 Lake Wylie, SC - Is a rapidly growing lake with a resort atmosphere but doesn't lose it's homey feeling because there are dozens of neighborhoods tucked away on the lake in picturesque coves. The outdoor living is very active all around the lake for boating, fishing, and golfing. It is an excellent choice for families and retirees.
Lake Wylie is about 15 miles SW of "uptown Charlotte" and borders the North and South Carolina state line. The Catawba River runs south through Mount Holly and Belmont before opening up into Lake Wylie along side of the Charlotte shoreline. Then the towns of Lake Wylie and Tega Cay, both South Carolina towns, provide an abundance of waterfront living opportunities for the boating enthusiasts.
The neighborhoods below have been chosen because they are waterfront communities and provide an atmosphere of being on or near the water. Waterfront and waterview lots and homes can be found in each. Some homes listed may be on a large pond with a waterfront lot. Lake Norman is the largest lake in the Charlotte area string of lakes followed by Lake Hickory, Lake Wylie, Mountain Island Lake, and Lake Tillery.
