 Know as Carolina's "Inland Sea", Lake Norman has a shoreline of 550 miles of craggy coves and peninsulas. Since Duke Power created the lake in 1962, there has been tremendous growth of several towns around the lake - Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Mooresville, Terrell, Sherrills Ford, Troutman, and Denver. Lake Norman is the largest lake in the Charlotte area followed by Lake Hickory, Lake Wylie, Mountain Island Lake, and Lake Tillery.
The neighborhoods below have been chosen because they are waterfront communities and provide an atmosphere of being on or near the water. Waterfront, waterview, and interior lots and homes can be found in each. Some communities have marinas and boat slips for their residents. Others have lake access or ramps as well as storage areas for the boating enthusiasts.
